Elon Musk wants to connect your brain

The Neuralink BCI (Brain Computer Interface) project is moving fast. In his last update on August 28, 2020, Elon Musk has announced the company's latest progresses in a long video that you can check out below. He presented the new version of the surgical robot, the electrodes that would connect to your brain (after surgery with the robot) and the experiments that Neuralink has performed on pigs. The device with the electrodes is the size of a coin: “it’s kind of like a Fitbit in your skull with tiny wires,” explained Musk, "it fits quite nicely in your skull".

The first features might be to monitor your health, but the ambition goes far beyond, including increasing your cognitive capacities, which raises some major ethical issues. Elon Musk's conviction is that if we do not augment our brains, we, as humans, might be taken over, on the long run, by Artificial Intelligence.
